Republican Crybabies LOVE Mark Foley!

I'm going to make this short and sweet.  First, to qualify myself I'll tell you in the last 3 elections I voted for Dole, W and Badnarik (because I knew W had been a mistake and Kerry looked like an even bigger one).  I'm not a Democrat by a longshot.  That being said, the Republicans are really pushing the limits of spin and I hope this time the majority of people will begin to see their misdirections for what they are.  I doubt it.

Of course what I'm talking about is the Mark Foley scandal, specifically the part where Republicans are accusing Democrats of releasing this information to benefit them in the upcoming midterm elections.  This would be almost as ridiculous as accusing the Republicans of timing the announcement that we caught Saddam Hussein to drown out all the not-so-bright-and-sunny facts surround the Iraq war (any news at any time could be accused of that) .  I say almost because the Republicans are the ones who knew about Foley's — shall we say indiscretions? — for over a year.  They could have disseminated this information more widely when they saw no action was being taken.  Instead they sat on it in what amounts to a passive cover-up, and now that the cat's out of the bag they're all over the television pointing fingers at the Democrats.

For shame!  I'd have more respect for them if they buried the information and made finding the truth about 'who knew what and when' like pulling teeth from a rabid dog.  Of course, then we'd have to put up with people calling it Foley-Gate but we are due for another '-Gate'.  Most people don't even remember who Valerie Plame is– I'm so sorry.  I can't believe I just did that.  I meant, "Joe Wilson's Wife".

This riff's for you, Rove.  Strum along.
