World of Warcraft: South Park Style

All right, I have no excuse waiting almost a week to post this, but Veronica Mars just reminded me of how bored I was since Battlestar on Friday and somehow South Park managed to work it's way back into my brain. No matter. I just watched last week's South Park again on my MCE box and WOW! Seriously. Pun intended.

For those of you who haven't yet seen it, let me be the first to condemn you for it. I'm going to ruin it for you so keep reading.

Firstly, even if you've seen it it's a hoot to watch these clips again. For the first time.

All right! All right! Enough with the YouTube already. You can, of course, download these videos if you're mildly clever or have a video downloader app such as this firefox extension.

Cartman's team leader role was hilarious, "I thought you were specc'ed for reduced cast time?" I think I fell out of the chair at that point because I remember seeing the floor up close. Oh, and if any of you are Warcraft players and you've pulled a Cartman and studied the manual on the can before running back to the computer, please keep it to yourselves. I'd rather go through life believing that no one has ever done that.

And I seem to be dancing around the man with "no life" ("How can you kill someone who has no life?"), who truly represents all that is wrong with MMORPGs since the beginning. I'm not saying they should implement time limits so people are forced to log out after playing a certain amount of hours per week (DO IT VERANT! DO IT!) but average people just can't be top-tier players without spending less time working, going to class, with their wives or their friends, etc. And the games really make you want to.

In scouring the web for South Park WoW stuff I came across this picture from the Blizzard Fan Art Program. Sure, Matt & Trey were a bit more sophisticated, but they had the entire Blizzard team behind them.

All right. New episode tomorrow and all is well. Not on New Caprica and not in Neptune, but here on earth where television shows take mid-season breaks for the express purpose of angering viewers. I'm talking to you Entourage! No more will I tune in to see Vince's shenanigans. It wasn't even a good cliff-hanger!

While Entourage is "Dead to Me" (thanks, Stephen) Smallville is merely "On Notice". They predictably cured Lex of Zod in a single episode and then went on to explore the closely related issue of Clark's newly discovered super-sneeze. Kudos to them for not wasting Lex's character by having Zod in control of him for half a season, but this show is in serious need of a good story arc. And by good I mean 'not mediocre' like Coach Jason and the Witch Mom. I was optimistic about that one at first, but as Roger Daltry said, I won't get fooled again.
